Fumin0ri Sakisaka is a y0ung medical student, wh0se life is changed when he gets in a traffic accident which kills his parents and leaves him heavily injured. Fuminori underg0es experimental brain surgery t0 save his life, but the surgery has an unintended side-effect - it creates a form 0f agn0sia, causing his senses t0 bec0me 'warped'. He perceives thE w0rld as a hellish nightmare with a black sky and buildings c0vered in pulsating flesh, wherE all the streets and building interi0rs are splattered with bl00d, giant organs and cartilage. 0rdinary people appear to him as gr0tesque, giant grub-like monsters with a hideous stench, and even food that he used t0 like n0w tastes utterly disgusting. As he c0ntemplates suicide in the hospital, Fumin0ri meets a beautiful, human l00king girl among the flesh - covered walls. She introduces herself as Saya, and is apparently l00king for her father.
